We a celebrating the day after Presidents Day with a 30% off sale. It applies to all Unsold One-of-a-Kind items shown with the title in red. This offers remains in effect for the next week.

There are a couple of new titles listed just below. Once again this year you will continue to see a wealth of new titles. Lower production costs and new technologies are making publishing accessible to just about anyone.

Several new essay pieces have been added to the essay and proof section. A 371 first day cover with a strip of three has been added to the cover section. This may be the largest multiple on cover.

There are still two exceptional proof items remaining from our 47th newsletter. The first is a perfect set of the Tran-Mississippi Roosevelt small die proof. This is the finest set that we have seen in 30 years, click here and then scroll down. The second is a mounted set of the 1902 Series, click here and then scroll down. You will find both on the essay and proof pages of out website.

If you did not receive a copy of our four-color newsletter no. 47 mailed out in early January let us know and a copy will be sent to you. Ever since it started snowing here in mid-December we have been plagued with both email and computer problems. Some of our mailing list addresses just seemed to disappear. Spring can not come soon enough to Cary.

We will again have a booth at the St. Louis Stamp Expo at the end of the month. This show is one of the premier shows on the APS World Series circuit and we worth a visit. We hope to see you there.
A History of the Ship Letters of the British Isles: An
Encyclopedia of Maritime Postal History – The original edition in
three volumes with slipcases as issued.
By Alan Robertson Published from 1955 to 1964 and distributed on
a subscription bases similar to the Ashbrook Special Service.
Very few complete original editions exist today. Produced on a
heavy glossy stock it faithfully reproduces photos, covers and
markings. Within the 1100+ pages – one of the largest philatelic
works ever published, the reader will find a wealth of
information on British Maritime postal history not readily
accessible elsewhere. Most every page is packed with
illustrations, maps, post office notices, documents and
portraits, handstamps and covers. We have just two original sets
in stock at $750.00 each (no discounts).

Also available is the James Bendon reprint which is housed in two
volumes and reproduced at 75% of the original size (which was
approximately 8 ½” by 11″). This edition is certainly suitable
for the student of maritime mail, but does not have the visual
punch of the original. However, it is priced at $295.00 a set
which is a big difference in price. Just three reprint sets are
available.

1107 List of Post Offices in the United States: 1862
Theron Wierenga reprint, 1981,330p, HB. List of post offices
specifies those under Confederate control. This is an alpha list
that also contains the county, state, and Postmaster. Also
includes several important Post Office Department-issued
pamphlets of 1861, 1863, 1864 and 1865. These pamphlets include
new laws, regulations and instructions to Postmasters. Since a
PL&R was not issued during the war years this is an excellent
resource for information regarding changes to Post Office
operations. Our retail price: $55.00. For the next week we are
making copies available at just $40.00.
